Sonoma Lavender was created over 20 years ago by Rebecca and Gary Rosenberg on a lush lavender farm nestled in the Sonoma Valley which lies between the Mayacamus Mountains in the east and the Sonoma Mountains in the west. This is northern California's famous wine country, ideally situated to grow rich fragrant lavender. Rebecca realized that lavender is truly like magic, “You can make so much. It repels insects. It heals the skin. It relaxes the muscles. It helps you sleep.”
The business started at Rebecca and Gary’s kitchen table with 50 pounds of lavender from which products were carefully created by hand and sold to nearby shops. As the demand grew, the business first moved into the nearby barn and then into a nearby workshop. The products being handcrafted expanded to include other intoxicating fragrances such as revitalizing Eucalyptus, brisk refreshing OceanAire and woodsy Timber Lake.
Today, the products continue to be handcrafted in the Sonoma Valley with the same meticulous care and attention of 20 years earlier. They are now sold at some of the finest gift shops and spas in the world. It's an overnight success, nearly 20 years in the making! And now, Rebecca and Gary welcome, as new owners, Scott Maddock and Siza Nyuliwe who will carry on the legacy.
